The Blarney Premier Intermediate Hurling Team are hosting a club-fundraiser Quiz Night on Friday the 17th of February in the Blarney Castle Hotel. The victorious 2011 U21 Hurling team also will be presented with their Mid-Cork championship medals on the night. With quiz begins at 8.30pm with teams of 4 at only €20 per team, and there will also be a raffle. Teams can enter on the night, all are welcome - bring friends, family, and any general knowledge genius you know - a great night is guaranteed!
Martin Coleman (Cork Hurler & County Board Games Development Officer) will be running Mid Term Coaching Sessions for U14, U15 and U16 players from Carrigdhoun and Muskerry during the upcoming schools mid-term break. The sessions will start on Monday 13th and run until Thursday 16th February. Parents to please contact the player's team manager if they would like to attend. There is a charge of €2 per player per session and more details are available on the Underage page.
There is a Foundation Level Coaching Course on in Carrigaline GAA on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th February. The course will run from 7pm to 10pm on Friday night and 10am to 4pm on Saturday. This course is open to all clubs to send participants. The fee for the course is €20 per person and must be paid in advance of the course. Anyone who is interested in doing the course can contact Martin Coleman for an application form on 086 7725372 or email martin.coleman.gda.cork@gaa.ie The course is likely to fill up fast so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Blarney's football Season gets under way Sunday the 5th of Febuary at 12.00 with the U21's facing Aghinagh in Donoughmore. Junior Football begins 2 weeks later when the lads face Ballingeary.
Blarney/Rathpeacon's 2012 Season kicks off next weekend with the minors playing Aghada on Saturday 4th of February. Please note that the U15 Football League v Nemo Rangers, and the 2011 U15 Hurling League Final are both postponed this weekend. Click here for details off all upcoming fixtures.
Blarney/Rathpeacon U13s had a great victory in the 2011 County Premier 2 League Final last Saturday, beating Sars on a scoreline of 2-18 to 0-4. Well done to all players and thanks for great support!

Result update: CBC 5-10 SMGS Blarney 1-12. Well done to Blarney on their peformance and their efforts in reaching the Final and congratulations to CBC who were worthy winners in a very competitive final.
The boys from our local secondary school take on CBC Cork in the Colleges Fe16 Hurling Final this Friday the 20th at 1.30pm in CIT. For more information and a report on their path to the final please click here. An intriguing clash is in store with young Blarney clubmen on both sides!
Scholarships to Coláiste na Mumhan Irish Language Courses are available to students between the ages of 10 and 19 years of age, who are active members of their clubs in the Muskerry Division. The Scholarship reduces the price of the three-week course by €230 (The reduction of €230 is comprised of contributions from Roinn Mhúscraí, The Munster Council and Coláiste na Mumhan). The club's annual St. Stephen's day activities were a great success with huge crowds turning out for both the Blarney Castle Walk and the Poc Fada. Many thanks to all those helped in organising these events, along with all those who turned out on the day!

On Monday the 21st of March a group of French students visited the Club to get a taste of Gaelic Football and Hurling . Organised by Martin Lynch, the demonstration of hurling was performed by Under 15 hurlers, Ray Murphy and Vincent O'Brien. There were also 4 coaches there,
Julian o' Donoughue, Brian o' Leary, Colin Murphy, Paul Hallissey who taught the French students who hailed from Lyon all the basics of both codes. All 47 boys and girls enjoyed the experience and we thank all Club members involved for helping to spread the gospel!
