2010 Golf Classic
The now well established Blarney GAA Golf Classic was held at Mallow Golf on Thursday, 8th July 2010. There was a fantastic turn out for the event with 65 teams taking part on the day. Once again we had the presentation of prizes/barbeque/entertainment on the following night and this turned out to be a great social night for all who support the club. An enjoyable night was had by all. The event was kindly sponsored by the Blarney Castle Hotel who also provided the barbeque and entertainment on the presentation night. We must thank the business people in Blarney and its surrounds for the wonderful financial support and help in the lead up to the day. A big thank you to all the companies, firms and individuals who either participated in the event or gave prizes and T.Boxes, thereby making it one of the most successful golf classics to date. We also thank Mallow Golf Club,who had the course in excellent condition on the day. We had many prizes on the night, but the main winners were as follows :

2010 Club Social
A great night was had in the Blarney Castle Hotel on Saturday the 13th of February at our annual club social!! The Junior footballers received their Championship medals and all celebrated that historic achievement in fine style!! 2009 Golf Classic
Blarney GAA Golf Classic was held at Mallow Golf Club on Thursday, 18th of June. Once again it was a tremendous success with 65 teams taking part in the event. Many Thanks to all those companies, businesses and individuals who supported and indeed every year continue to support this event! We also thank Mallow Golf Club who had the course in excellent condition and also for their cooperation in the lead up to the event. There were 15 great prizes on offer and the main winners were as follows:
1st: Ted Mellumphy, David Higgins and Martin Hegarty......................56 points.
2nd: Anthony Kenny, Seamus Mc Govern and Paddy Naughton .........54 points.
3rd: Michael Sullivan, Noel O'Sullivan and Ger Gleeson.......................53 points.
4th: Dennis Forrest, Ger O'Riordan and Brian Murray..........................53 points.
5th: Ray Coleman, James Cooney and Sean Cafferky..........................53 points.
6th: Sean O'Brien, Paddy O'Brien and Declan Barry............................52 points.
The longest drive was held at the 17th hole and was won by Joe Power representing Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal, Blarney.
Nearest to the pin at the 18th hole was won by Sean Dalton.
The presentation of prizes was held on the following night at the Blarney Castle Hotel. Ian Forrest put on a fantastic barbecue for the huge attendance and entertainment afterwards was provided by Fiona Kennedy and her band!
The President of Mallow Golf Club, Terry Byrne and the Captain, Michael Mc Evoy attended also which was appreciated by all present.

A civic reception was held in Cork City Hall to honour the victorious Blarney All-Ireland winners on Tuesday the 24th of March. Blarney GAA Club is grateful to Cork City Council for the honour and the presentations were made by Councillor Joe O'Callaghan, Deputy Mayor and a proud Blarney man! Please click on pics below!


The 2009 Dinner Dance was held in the Woollen Mills on Friday the 27th of February. With medals being presented to the victorious Under 21, Junior B and Intermediate hurling teams, it was always going to be a special night, so please browse through the photos for a look at how the village let the hair down! It was a chance for the wives and girlfriends of the players to share the limelight and to these girls, we say Thank You for your patience and support through the year and we hope you enjoyed yourselves!!! "Castle Walk"-St. Stephen's Day 2008
The Castle Walk proved as popular as ever with hundreds taking part. After the walk which took place in ideal conditions and at a brisk pace, it was back to the clubhouse for refreshments kindly supplied by the Blarney Castle Hotel -Thanks Ian and to the O'Mahony family, Mick, Michelle and their 3 beautiful daughters for their willingness to dish out the tea and hot whiskies to the hordes! "Poc Fada" - St. Stephen's Day 2008
"Poc Fada" 2008 was a great success with 75 teams of 3 participating. Monies raised were awarded to 2 local charities- Thank You!! Sponsored by Blarney Sofa Factory- Thanks Frank, the event started at 2pm and finished off at the Waterloo Inn. The winning team in the general category with a total of 25 shots despite a frantic search for a ball at the end was Mark Cremin, Trevor Hegarty and Colin Murphy. The family competition was won by the 3 Jordans, Joe, Brian and Shane! Thank You to all who helped out with stewarding and sandwiches! The first of the pics can be seen below! Sorry Ronan...It had to be done!!

On Monday the 22nd of December Blarney GAA Club were presented with a cheque by the patrons of the Muskerry Arms in Blarney. We appreciate this gesture. Below is a picture of Chairman Mick O'Mahony accepting the cheque on behalf of the club!

On the evening of Monday December the 15th Jim Cashman the former Cork Hurling great, invited the Intermediate team and club members into Murphy's Brewery for a reception in recognition of the teams achievements in winning the county and Munster Intermediate titles. BLARNEY G.A.A. GOLF CLASSIC 2008
The Annual Golf Classic sponsored by the Blarney Castle Hotel was held at Blarney Golf Resort on Thursday/Friday 26/27th June. Scoil Mhuire gan Smal's team of St. John Cremin,
Cathal Dodd and Sean Downey emerged winners in a closely contested classic. Their winning total of 51 points was the same as the second and third placed teams but a superior back nine gave the teachers top marks.
The day was an outstanding success as indeed was the prize giving ceremony in the Blarney Castle Hotel afterwards! Many thanks go to Noel O'Sullivan for his work in organising the day and a big Thank You goes out to Ian Forrest, the main sponsor and also Mr John Martin O'Keeffe of OK Asphalt!! Your genorosity is appreciated!!
